Rain Boots & Dinner

Today it was raining so it was the first time I got to wear my 40 dollar rain boots I just bought. I like them. Only thing is they are hard to drive in because they are stiff and the seat hits the back of them pushing them down. I dear not tell my husband this, right now they are my favorite shoes.

We also went to dinner tonight at my Aunt and Cousins house. They cooked my favorite; fried chicken. It was very yummy. Serena helped my Aunt Julie make the rolls. All the kids played nicely together & I had a nice visit with some adults. We will have to go back again...soon.

Thanksgiving Craft

Today my sister, Angela, and I decided to let the kids make Thanksgiving turkey name plates for our Thanksgiving dinner next week. I think we counted 22 people will be there. We started to make a sample craft for the kids to look at. While we were doing this we decided it would be to hard for the kids to do & we would be left doing it ourselves. The kids ages are 7,5, & two 2 year olds. So instead they played upstairs while we were doing the craft. Later they came down & played with play dough, glue, paper, feathers & other stuff. We had a nice day & our Thanksgiving Turkey nameplates don't look to bad either. Depending on the comments said next week we may end up telling them the kids did them..lol

Cheese Muffins Recipe

When the kids got home from school today I decided to let them make Cheese Muffins on there own. It is a nasty rainy day out so I thought this may occupy them for a little. To follow is our recipe, it's just like the ones you get from Red Lobster.. Yummy!!

1 1/2 cups flour
1 tbs sugar
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3 cups cheddar cheese
1 egg
1 cup milk
1/4 cup butter melted

Mix dry ingredients in one bowl & wet ingredients in another. Mix the wet with
dry. Bake in greased muffin tin for 20 minutes on 350.

My little helper

Huntley likes to help me do dishes. Which is ok, most the time. Sometime I just want to get them done & not spend all day doing dishes. Sometimes it's fine till Huntley has water flowing in the floor or his clothes are soaking wet. He likes doing it & so I try to let him help.
So this brings me to my husband. He hasn't wash dished often and the few times I have made a comment about not wanting to do them (who loves doing dishes?) he says there's not much there just wait. It's already one sink full, what does he want me to wait till there are two sinks full & I really don't want to do them? The only time he had offered/done dishes is when he wanted something that night. (do you know what I am talking about :). He hasn't even done that lately. More kids means more dishes, I might take him up on this offer again..lol.
So I wonder how long Huntley would like helping with dishes. I should let him do it for now before he doesn't want to be Mommies little helper anymore.

Halloween

I know a little late for a Halloween post but I wanted to share photos. We all enjoyed it well. Lots of walking to to houses & best of all lots of candy. And I still have a basket full. I hope everyone else had a wonderful & safe Halloween.

Fall

It is Fall. Some things I like about this season & some things I don't. I like that we don't sweat when we come out to play. I like having the option to wear shorts or long pants (this one helps for those days I don't get to shave). I like having the windows open & the wind blowing thru. And I like the color of the trees changing.

I don't like the cold mornings waiting on the bus & the cold evenings when my kids are out playing. The girls get off the bus fussing that I made them wear pants when it was a hot day. Although they complained how cold it was waiting for the bus in the morning. I don't like that it gets darker sooner. Already feel like I don't have enough time in the day. When it's darker earlier I feel more rushed.

Fall also brings festivals. Not that we been to any yet. Our small family church is having one this Saturday so that should be nice. The fair will also be coming next week. I do plan on taking the kids to that & they are looking forward to entering some of the contest.

Enjoy the nice fall weather everyone. I am going to go buy some apple pie candles to fill my house with that yummy smell.

Busch Gardens Trip

On Sunday just my sister and I went to Busch Gardens. No kids = No kiddie land = We got to ride grown up rides..YAY!

It ended up being a nice hot day. We planned on being there when they opened at 10 am. We almost made it, stopping at a McDonald's drive thru sit us back 30 mins. They were busy, slow and I don't think they knew what they were doing.

You would think they wouldn't be to pack just 30 min. after they opened but one parking lot was almost full and they were working on another one. So we decided to park in the back of the parking lot under a tree hoping that sometime during the day the tree would provide shade for the van and it wouldn't be so hot when we got back. Not sure that happened because it was still hot when we left.

Parking in the back also meant we had to walk farther to get to the tram to ride to the park. Don't think we thought this thru, did we forget we would be walking all over the park and get another exercise for the week that we didn't need to park so far back and walk even more.

I haven't rode a roller coaster since after my first daughter was born almost 11 years ago. So needless to say I was a little scared. There are 4 roller coaster at Busch Gardens, so we started out on a smaller one that still twist and turn and ended up going up side down, which we did not know it did. Then off into the park we went walking and walking, waiting and waiting to ride all these rides we haven't rode in forever. But it was fun and I had a good time! Thank you Angie for going with me!

Oh, I forgot to mention it was $9 to rent this little locker to stick my purse and keys in. Nine dollars, oh my gosh. Also forgot to say I was a little disappointed that The Big Bad Wolf was no longer there. This was the first roller coaster I ever rode and it was gone. Probably to make way for all those larger ones that scare people more.
